I Guess He's Too Busy Chatting with Kanye

Donald Trump postpones news conference until January

Donald Trump has decided to postpone his first press conference as President-elect until January, two transition sources confirmed to CNN.

The press conference, previously scheduled for Thursday, had been advertised as an opportunity for him to address his plan for dealing with potential conflicts of interest stemming from his businesses. It was to be his first press conference since July.

"The announcement has been rescheduled for next month," said Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks.
Late Monday, Trump said he would "hold a press conference in the near future to discuss the business, Cabinet picks and all other topics of interest." He also made more vague comments about his plans for handing his business empire over to his children.

One transition official said the postponement is largely because of the transition's focus on personnel, but also underscores the complexities facing Trump lawyers as they try to figure this whole thing out. "This isn't exactly easy stuff," the official said of the process.

But Trump's critics saw the decision as an attempt to avoid scrutiny from the press.
"Trump is blatant in his disrespect for democratic norms and his contempt for transparency," tweeted John Cassidy, a writer for The New Yorker, noting that Trump's first press conference would now not come until after next week's Electoral College vote.

It has been 35 days since Trump won the election, and 139 days since his last press conference, when he encouraged Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's email servers.

Well, this could explain alot about his dismissal of trivial things like press conferences and intelligence briefings:

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—In what Donald Trump’s transition-team members are calling a further example of international coöperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to receive daily U.S. intelligence briefings in the place of the President-elect.

Trump, who had earlier decided that he did not need the briefings and had assigned Vice-President-elect Mike Pence to receive them, said on Tuesday that Putin was a “much better choice.”

“No offense to Mike, but Vladimir Putin is just a terrific, terrific guy to do this,” he said. “He knows all the players.”

Trump said that, while he was “totally uninterested” in receiving the briefings, Putin appeared to be “extremely interested.”

“He’s just terrific,” he said.

Trump also touted his deal-making prowess in securing the Russian President’s services. “The American people are getting an amazing deal here,” he said. “Putin is doing this totally for free.”

No concern about this from the right.
Funny, not holding press conferences was a noteworthy thing when Clinton was involved.
Imagine that.

Hillary Clinton yet to hold single press conference in 2016

Hillary Clinton is 0-for-2016, having failed to hold any full press conferences this year — fueling the perception that she is the most guarded major candidate in recent political history, in stark contrast with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

I mean, if a candidate for President is expected to give regular news conferences, shouldn't the actual president be expected to?

Tranparency, and all that BS?

Of course, Trump is only the President elect. Nothing going on yet.

He's only announcing cabinet appointments,,, musing about changing the One China policy that has been in effect for about 40 years,,, taking Boeing and Lackhee martin to task over Billions in contracts. China is making Provocative military maneuvers,, North Korea military exercises,,, Russia is assisting in the murder of Syrian civilians, and one of his own intelligence agencies says that a foreign power interfered in the election.

Nothing to talk about. He can meet with Kanye and then send a couple of tweets out while sitting on the can, and we're pretty much caught up.
