Fact-Checking Doesn't Matter

In a nutshell, I think this short piece about why Donald Trump is impervious to fact-checking is important to understand.  I think it also speaks to a problem far beyond Donald Trump:

What, in that piece, is most bothersome to me is that the press has no other options.  I don't believe this at all and have to wonder where are the investigative reporters like Woodward & Bernstein, Mike Wallace, some of the old Sixty Minutes guys?  Are there none?  Is or has the media just rolled over and is playing it is no longer worth it?  I never did like Chuck--too wishy-washy so he's a poor of an excuse go-get- 'em.  Surely there is one/some go-getters out there.

Re: Fact-Checking Doesn't Matter

Good points, flowergirl, but in situations like these that seem seem to have no rational answers, I always fall back on my long held opinion, and that is:  FOLLOW THE MONEY.

It may take some work to connect the dots, but when media outlets are funded and fueled by for-profit corporations looking to protect their own interests and connected (or owned) by other business interests doing the same thing, objective reporting can affect the bottomline.  As a side note, when I want straight news, I turn to Reuters, the BBC, and sometimes Al-Jazeera.
