Re: Anybody Remember this?

I do recall seeing the mobs--thousands would be no exageration--cheering in the Israeli West Bank and Gaza.

There were also some mainstream media articles shortly after 9/11/01 concerning FBI scrutiny of certain mosques in NJ.

Re: Anybody Remember this?

Gaza is NOT New Jersey. The guy said, New Jersey . It is completely unrelated.

He lied.

I don't think that Donald can see all the way across the Atlantic.
And, "some FBI concerns" is a lot different than "thousands and thousands'  of Muslim Americans celebrating.
No?

T, the guy made it up. Don't give him a pass.
Would you accept a fabrication from Clinton?

This is the rise of fascism

Re: Anybody Remember this?

Let's look at this from another angle.

Suppose I am giving a speech, and I am telling my audience to be wary of the loyalty of Christian Americans.
As an example of their treachery I offer a story.
I say that I personally witnessed thousands and thousands of Christians cheering dead US soldiers at Ground Zero.

People look into it and all they can find is an incident of about 6 guys from the Westboro Baptist Church demonstrating, not in New York City, but in Topeka.

How would you rate my truthfulness?
Would you say, "Well, he's kinda right"?
I doubt it.

Re: Anybody Remember this?

Trump is not "getting a pass" from me.

The only fabricators I endorse are the one in a metal shop.

Re: Anybody Remember this?

This past week of Trump is just getting dangerously weird.

Surveillance of mosques. The return of waterboarding. Muslim databases. Made up stories about thousands of muslims in the U.S. cheering 9/11.

If I'm a dyed in the wool republican, I am beyond furious at the party. Nothing from GOP Party leadership denouncing Trump. Outside of Kasich, there's only halfhearted rebukes of what Trump is saying, which in my mind means they are quietly endorsing his message.

Donald Trump, and to a lesser extent, Ben Carson are leading the Republican Party off a cliff and everyone in that tribe is sitting back and passively ignoring it.

And for the record, when the votes are counted, I don't think Trump or Carson will be the nominee. But how, after letting Trump remain in the spotlight for so long, can the party ever get back on a message other than, "Not Hillary"?

This is the weirdest presidential election cycle in my lifetime.

Re: Anybody Remember this?

Look, if the guy is running for a nomination to become the next president, there is a certain amount of personal responsibility that goes with that aspiration.  If you are going to say stuff that turns out to be bullshit, it was initially your fault for not researching your 'facts' before you blow some crap out there.

Example:  Bill O'Reilly called him out just yesterday about him saying 81% of crime is 'black on white'.  O'Reilly challenged him by pointing out the real number is 15%.  Trump's response was that he got that figure from a tweet and he shouldn't be criticized or be held accountable, even though he re-tweeted that number.  That's what I'm talking about.

Not only is this race weird, but it's taken a very ugly turn.

EXACTLY!!! What kind of world are we living in when a presidential front-runner and major media company are having an argument about <bleeping> retweets vs tweets?!?!!?

There are no words to describe the absurdity of the Republican nominating process or our media's coverage of it.
