Filling in for the Pope

Well, I'm off to Florence tomorrow morning.  I will be gone until October 9.  While I am in Florence, I will be the Pope's substitute, so if you need anything blessed or have anything to confess, you may contact me until he comes back to Italy.

P.S.  Boy, am I glad I'm flying out of Washington instead of Philly tomorrow.  That was just luck since I booked the flight a few months ago.

Firenze in the fall, oh man am I jealous!
It's a Pitti I can't join you.

Wishing you a great time. Say Hi to David for us.

If the truffles are in, stop by Harry's Bar for the Fettucine with truffle sauce.

Re: Filling in for the Pope

As god to give me a call.  I have a few complaints.

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.

Re: Filling in for the Pope

Thanks, everyone.  I am going to visit a couple of new towns this year .............. Lerici along the coast and having lunch at a cheese farm just outside Volterra.  I will also be re-visiting Cortona, Montepulciano, Radda, Greve and Montefioralle, along with the San Grignano winery/olive grove.  And, oh yes, I'm going to a soccer (futbol) game in Florence.

If you are interested in the art and culture of Renaissance, I'm a good guide ............... so I've been told by pilgrims who have gone with me before.
