Why does this guy continue to send this out?

Other than to continually prove how utterly worthless our federal legislators are.

News from Representative Scott Perry

September 23, 2015
        As part of a larger effort to improve government transparency and keep the constituents of Pennsylvania's 4th Congressional District informed of current legislative business, I send out updates at the beginning of each Session week as an overview of legislative matters to be addressed.

         As always, if you have questions or concerns on any issue or need help with a federal agency, please contact our offices anytime.

S. 1707, 261, and 994, as well as H.R.'s 1442, 322, 323, 324, 558, 1884, and 3059 - involve the naming of various United States Post Offices or Courthouses;

H.R. 3116 - extends by 15 years the authority of the Secretary of Commerce to conduct the quarterly financial program;

H.R. 348 - reforms and expedites the approval and completion of critical energy and infrastructure projects;

Concur in the Senate Amendment with an Amendment to H.R. 719 - which requires the Transportation Security Administration to conform to existing Federal law and regulations regarding criminal investigator positions.

         On Thursday at 10AM, His Holiness Pope Francis will make history as the first Pope ever to address a Joint Meeting of Congress. You can watch the speech live at http://www.speaker.gov/pope.

   Sincerely,

   Scott Perry

whew! I got tired just reading that back breaking agenda. Especially about naming all those post offices and courthouses.

I delete his emails and phone messages without looking or hearing them.

Technology was supposed to make our representatives in government more open and improve our ability to communicate with them.

Instead, it's given them the ability to fill up our inboxes with this crap. I've had to unsubscribe from my state rep's emails and tweets because they were mainly party propaganda. Same with my state senator and congressman. It's embarrassing.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good observation. Time after time technology is held out as some sort of transformative miracle.
We gave a free Ipad to every student a few years ago. For every kid writing the great american novel, there are a hundred playing angry birds.

Technology is a tool. A hammer can be used to create or to annoy.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
