(Reuters) - Republican Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin plans to drop out of the 2016 presidential race after determining he has no path to win, the New York Times reported on Monday, citing three unnamed Republicans familiar with Walker's decision.
(Reuters) - Republican Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin plans to drop out of the 2016 U.S. presidential race after deciding he has no path to win his party's nomination, a Republican familiar with the decision said on Monday.
Walker's campaign announced he would hold a news conference in Madison, Wisconsin, at 6 p.m. ET on Monday, but it did not say what he would discuss. His campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Walker, who gained national attention for fighting unions in his state and surviving a heated recall election in 2012, struggled to distinguish himself from a crowded Republican field. He received 3 percent of support in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll of the Republican field.
Walker's decision to pull out was first reported by the New York Times.
my question is: did Scott come to this conclusion, or was it Chuck & Dave's ultimate decision?

Did you catch Scott Walker's reason for "suspending his campaign"? Here is what he says:
“Today I believe I’m being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With this in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately,” Walker said. “I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to do the same so that voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive, conservative alternative to the current frontrunner. This is fundamentally important to the future of the party — more importantly, to the future of our country.”
So, Scott's really doing this for the good of the party . . . ultimately for the good of the nation . . . he's a martyr! He's not quitting because of his dismal performance in the polls and in the debates, nor his inability to connect with the voters, nor the rampant inconsistencies in his various positions on the issues . . . He is quitting because he wants to set an example for the other losers that will quit as this campaign drags on.

If you never heard Walker's "Kohl's" stump speech, it was actually really good. But I remember where Walker really turned me off as a presidential contender.
He was doing a big interview right as he announced he was running. He was sitting on his patio with his whole family. The subject of marriage equality came up and his wife and kids were talking about how he was very wrong about his position about not supporting it and that the Walker's recently had a gay family member get married and that they were sad that he couldn't see that there marriage was just as real and valid as the one between Walker and his wife.
And I'm thinking to myself, "who does this?" His whole family is supporting and loving of an extended family member, and he's just shrugging his shoulders?
Told me that he has little authenticity and that he'll play to the base on a core issue when prior to that, right or wrong, he was generally his own man.
People saw through that and that's why his support dropped IMHO

I agree, lack of authenticity was his downfall.
It got really pathetic when he was reduced to trying to out do trump.
"Hey, he's getting big numbers proposing a wall. I'll just propose two walls!"
Glad he's gone.
Huckabee needs to go as well.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
