Good-bye Big Tent

In the aftermath of Mitt Romney's 2012 defeat the Republican party performed its so-called autopsy.
One of the things that came out of that was a promise to appeal to the concerns of latinos and other minorities. Well, that's all gone now.

Because Donald Trump has found poll success appealing to xenophobia, and fear of immigrants, all of the others have decided to appeal to hatred as well.

Ben Carson wants to bomb Mexico. Santorum and Paul want to repeal the 14th Amendment. Scott Walker believes something different every 15 minutes.
Jeb Bush has offended Asian Americans. Rubio has been struck dumb.

Trump is single-handedly destroying the GOP.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Good-bye Big Tent

At one time I looked at the Republican party as nearly invincible and in complete lockstep with each other.  Now they are in shambles.  Crazies are running amuck saying all kinds of bizzare, paranoid things and no one seems to be able to get them under control.  It gets crazier and crazier.
