A 17 year old gets killed for walking around with skittles.
A man selling bootleg cigarettes gets killed with a chokehold that the police themselves banned.
A petty criminal shackled, cuffed, posing no threat to anyone gets his neck broken in police custody.

And you think they had it coming. No trial. No judge. No jury.
Petty criminals deserve to die.
That's one of the saddest things I've ever seen.
I'm appalled.

Thank god  black lives matter to someone.
They sure don't matter to you.

Aren't you the one who regularly implies that the cops in the Freddie Gray case are already guilty before they have even been tried? And BTW, Trayvon Martin's killer was already found not guilty.

Black lives do matter indeed.  Thug lives don't matter.

And you, sitting in your living room, get to decide who is a thug, whose life matters, and who is deserving of justice under the law.?

And just to be clear. You include in that a 17 year old walking thru a neighborhood with candy, accosted by a wannabe cop. His life is worth nothing?

You are God then?
That is absolutely frightening.

No, I'm just entitled to my opinion, the same as you are,  but yes, Freddie Gray, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown were all proven, convicted thugs.  This world is a better place without them.  To bring them up as part of a 'black lives matter' movement is a joke.  Martin Luther King is a black life that mattered.  Michael Gray is a black life who was a career criminal.  We don't need or want that.

Re: Something Seems Fishy About This

Rev King would be so happy to know that you believe he deserved to live amongst you.

Actually, you are wrong. Our system of government guarrantees equal protection under the law.
You are not allowed to deny due process, or any other right because you don't like someone else, if they have a criminal history, or if they wear a hoody, or are walking in a neighborhood that "they don't belong in", or their skin is black.

BTW, what had Trayvon Martin been convicted of that proved to you that he was not fit to live?

I didn't deny anyone due process, I said that Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Freddie Gray were proven, convicted thugs, which they were.

And you're willing to claim that the cops in the Freddie Gray case are guilty before they are given due process?

Let's just agree to disagree on this one Goose.

We don't want that it in an unrehabilitated form.

We do want them to be rehabilitated.

Unfortunately there are some who refuse to be rehabilitated and prefer to live as predators.

Absolutely, I'm with you on that.  I still think this 'Black Lives Matter' movement is a total joke.  It is Sarah Palin, TEA party level joke.

.

None were convicted of a capital offense. (Martin was "convicted" of graffitti)
Yet they died without due process, without a trial, and You are basically saying that their deaths aren't an issue because they were unworthy of life. That they deserved to die for petty offenses. That rights are for "good" people.
,,,,,,,,,,, you really don't see the problem here?

Heck, there might be some folks who think you and I are unworthy of life.

You really need to give this some thought.

This is proof that, as grotesque as you may find them, we need black lives matter.

Re: Something Seems Fishy About This

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

You might think that the injustice dealt to a petty criminal is no big deal. After all, he wasn't a very good person anyway. But, the law allows no shortcuts. The state should not take a life casually, or without due process, unless there is a clear and immediate danger to the life of an officer or civilian. Such was NOT the case with Freddie Gray, or Eric Garner.

Think of the dangers when we play fast and loose with the law, and make decisions better left to God.

When someone dies in an encounter with the police, the only question we should consider is were the officers actions legal and reasonable.
It is not appropriate for us to weigh whether we think that the world would be a better place without this person. The police are not charged with ridding the world of people we don't like. And police misconduct is not OK if it was carried out against someone we don't like.

Re: Something Seems Fishy About This

BLM is a movement that began out of anger and frustration.  Most movements do.  However, my original post questioned the decision to use a Bernie Sanders townhall to protest.  It didn't make sense to me, since Sanders is quite sympathetic to their concerns.
