I'm confused, Lager.  You want someone on the Dem side that represents fresh air, a fresh face with a fresh perspective and not part of the establishment on the Dem side, yet you feel Sanders can't take it to the finish line.  So where does that leave us?

That's why I don't think he can take his campaign to the finish line. The visions the Hillary people will put out there, once the campaign really gets into high gear, of Russian gulags and Chinese labor camps, and all the other images of socialist regimes throughout the years will scare the living hell out of the people who aren't deep into politics and won't be paying much attention until the primary elections start rolling around.

Just an observation of the above statement: Russian gulags and Chinese labor camps: How about the fact that the capitalist USA holds more people in prison per capita than anywhere else ?  Isn't it scary that US capitalists jail more people ?

That's a great point Jay and something I don't have an answer for.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Re: Who Supports Trump?

I wouldn't expect that level of introspection from the nation's citizens.
Heck, nearly half of them can't bring themselves to see that the civil war was about slavery.

Re: Who Supports Trump?

Oh no, say it ain't so:

:Donald Trump has been told not to attend a conservative gathering in Atlanta Saturday after the Republican presidential hopeful made comments about female Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly that many found shocking.

Trump said Kelly, who moderated Thursday's GOP debate, had "blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever."

The remarks made during a phone interview with CNN prompted conservative commentator Erick Erickson to withdraw his invitation for Trump to appear at his RedState Gathering."I just don't want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal," Erickson wrote on the
RedState website Friday night. "It just was wrong."

In response, Trump's campaign issued the following statement: "This is just another example of weakness through being politically correct. For all of the people who were looking forward to Mr. Trump coming, we will miss you. Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader."

Re: Who Supports Trump?

Looks like the Donald can dish it out, but he can't take it.
Trump gets some uncomfortable questions from a female reporter and he goes berserk. How's he going to interact with foreign heads of state? We'll be at war with the entire world by the third week of a Trump Presidency.

Trump's incredibly thin skin will be his undoing.
The sooner the better.
Go away, loser. This country has serious problems, and we need serious people to solve them.

Re: Who Supports Trump?

Trump just Blew himself up. He was so upset that a female reporter would dare question him that he suggested that she was having her period.
Bye bye, Donald.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/08/politics/donald-trump-cnn-megyn-kelly-comment/index.html

Atlanta (CNN)Donald Trump's latest controversial comment created such an uproar that he's been disinvited from a conservative gathering Saturday in Atlanta.

At issue: Trump's comments on "CNN Tonight" about Fox News' Megyn Kelly, who moderated a GOP presidential candidate debate Thursday night.

During the debate, she pressed Trump about misogynistic, sexist comments he made in the past, such as calling some women "fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals."

Trump slammed Kelly, saying her questions were "ridiculous" and "off-base."

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," Trump told CNN's Don Lemon on Friday night. "Blood coming out of her wherever."

Re: Who Supports Trump?

I'm afraid that we have only scratched the surface with these kinds of candidates...I mean, I know Trump isn't the first loudmouth to seek office, but have we rewarded him with so much attention that more of his type will start popping up? It seems like there are enough people who like his "style" that they'll start popping up in elections across the country. Heck, we've already got our own here in York County...

That is my concern as well. The one thing our politics does NOT need is a push towards more coarseness.
But, I think we've already seen some of the GOP candidates up their rhetoric in an effort to ride the Trump wave.
Sad.

Some voters seem to think that leadership consists of yelling at people and calling them losers, etc. These voters like to see politics as some sort of verbal Thunderdome. So terribly misguided.
