Tonight, in more than 3,000 sites across America, there is an event that amounts to the biggest townhall meeting ever held. Of course, the corporate media isn't going to tell you about it but you might want to check it out, and click on 'attend a meeting'.

Wow. 27 of these events within 20 miles of my zip code. Pretty impressive. Also pretty smart. I am assuming this is an internet based live stream town hall. That's a great way to get supporters on the same page and to try and build some momentum.
And as far as the corporate media not paying attention, I think that's a good. The second cable news starts talking about it, they will start putting unrealistic expectations for turnout, or some sort of ridiculous spin on it.
The purpose of this type of event is to build strategy, messaging, and I'm assuming a bigger war chest.
I like the way Bernie is running his campaign.

If Bernie isn't getting much press, it's his own fault.
After all, all Sanders talks about are those issuey things.
If you want attention, insult the service of a decorated war veteran, or compare the President to the Nazis.
You know, straight talky, hard truthy stuff.

Pretty sad isn't it, Goose.

Our press is largely a disgrace.

Well, as predicted. the corporate media didn't cover it. I had to google 'Bernie Sanders' to get a report. An estimated 100,000 people turned out in 3500 venues in all 50 states to hear and watch the event last night. A real grassroots movement, but hey, the top story was Scott Walker sampling cheese steaks in Philly.

Pretty sad.
The CNN website had a piece about Bernie, but it was really just gushing about how some thing called Reddit is the next big thing. No talk of positions on issues at all.
There was a hard-hitting, timely piece about Trump's opinion of women who pump breast milk.
"We can do the innuendo,
we can dance and sing.
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing".

It's disappointing and frustrating that the media has turned everything into a reality show, viewing presidential candidates as celebrities vying for attention, while creating drama and scandals that need to be reported as news.

I'm telling you guys, don't fret over the lack of mainstream media coverage at this stage.
Let's look back at fairly recent history --
Howard Dean, 2004. Remember that guy was the great liberal hope. The Disruptor. Got all sorts of media coverage. But on the day of the Iowa Caucuses, when people were calling his campaign HQ looking for a ride to the polls, or to find out what sections of the state they should be focusing their get out the vote efforts, no one was their to answer. They were disorganized and lost.
On the flip side, go back to Rick Santorum campaign in 2012. That guy got zero mainstream media coverage, save for one big profile in the NYT. But he won the caucus throught retail campaigning and making sure he had a core group of supporters there who would show up, get people to the polls, and spread his message.
The Sanders campaign is doing the right thing. While the media if focusing on a guy (Trump) who has zero chance of being president, they are doing the hard work of organizing, planning, and developing a strategy for building support.
And when he exceeds expectations in Iowa and New Hampshire (which I think he will) then the media will pay attention.

I hope you are right, Lager.
