    Windows 10

    Any opinions out there?  Good, better, or what?  I'm currently operating on Windows 7.

    Haven't gotten around to upgrading yet, but from every review I have read, Windows 10 is a significant improvement over Windows 8. So the question is if you are on Windows 7, do you upgrade?

    To be honest, I thought Win7 was fine the way it was. All of my current gear is Win8 so I will definitely upgrade, but I'm not so sure I would if I was still running 7.

    Looks like it will be a LOT BETTER than Windows 8 to transition to if you are already used to Windows 7. That said, however, it is still a new experience in looking at the promos. There is a lot of good, new stuff in there that once you learn it looks exciting. I would want to take some local courses (or likely free web training soon) before you make the jump. 

    Last point, IF you have some software you like on Windows 7 make sure it will run on Windows 10 (that is even true if just upgrading to a new computer with Windows 7 that is 64 bit vs the old 32 bit machines). There ALWAYS seems to be some surprises with new hardware or software.

    I did take MS's offer and download Windows 10 and so far it's not been too bad.  There's been a few snags here and there over which I spent about 1.5 hours in chat & on the phone with a Microsoft tech.  One dificulty is when clicking on a video in, say, Facebook,  I get a message saying I need to downwload Adobe Flash Player in order for it to play, but when I do that I get another message saying it's included in Windows 10 already so it's a catch-22 situations.  The MS tech attempted to find new drivers from HP but apparently HP hasn't issued any because some driver manufacturers are still working on theirs.  He suggested I could uninstall 10 and go back to Windows 7 until HP issues new drivers,  I have a year to reinstall 10 later.  I'll wait a while because it's a problem but not a desparate one.

    UGH!!! I had just finished feeling overwhelmed with win8 on my tablet, and working it quite well on my puter when this win0 comes out and hubby switched over every single system in the house to it!!! AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
    I told him to keep his techie mitts off my other older laptop that's running win7 or no more hot tub playtime for him!!!

    It took me 4 different calls to MS tech support to get things the way I'm happy.  Thankfully, those calls were all free.  I ditched MS edge and went back to using IE--much less complicated, much easier to use, was able to get back to parts of Windows 7 but still use Windows 10 when I chose to do so. Problems are all solved!

    A couple things to be aware of with Win10, it will use your bandwidth to distribute updates to other peoples computer. If you don't have an unlimited data plan it could cost you. Here's how to turn it off. http://lifehacker.com/windows-10-uses-your-bandwidth-to-distribute-updates-d-1721091469 Also, the last I heard Win10 still forces update download and installation. Some of these updates can screw things up, on my Win7 computers I look over every update to see if there are any I don't want installed.
