Trump Watch

As a service to the nation, I am starting a thread to document the many Truths that the Donald has bestowed upon the people of America.

Trump 2016.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Donald Trump Floats Completely Insane Birther Conspiracy After Health Official's Death

Real estate mogul Donald Trump pushed his birther views Thursday in a tweet about the death of Loretta Fuddy, the state Health Director of Hawaii who authorized the release of President Barack Obama's birth certificate in 2011.

Fuddy was the sole fatality in the crash of a small plane carrying nine people on Wednesday. The Makani Kai Air plane she was on crashed into the ocean off the Hawaiian island of Molokai.

Trump tweeted about the crash on Thursday:

How amazing, the State Health Director who verified copies of Obama’s “birth certificate” died in plane crash today. All others lived
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 12, 2013

Trump has long doubted the validity of Obama's birth certificate. His persistance on the issue has even prompted Obama to crack a joke, saying "no one is happier, no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald" during the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Donald Trump Beats The Birther Drum Again: 'Was There A Birth Certificate?' (VIDEO)

Give Donald Trump points for persistence -- if not for anything else.

On ABC's "This Week" Sunday morning, Trump insisted yet again that the issue of Barack Obama's birth certificate is up for debate, telling Jonathan Karl:

Was there a birth certificate? You tell me. Some people say that was not his birth certificate. I’m saying I don’t know. Nobody knows.

Re: Trump Watch

OK, one last Birther story and we'll move on.

In 2012, Trump claimed that he sent investigators to Hawaii, and that they found evidence that Obama's birth certificate was a fraud.
An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that @BarackObama's birth certificate is a fraud.

Trump never disclosed who these investigator are. And after generating some headlines, Trump never presented any evidence at all.

Re: Trump Watch

Let's look at immigration:

Trump refused to say what he would do about the 11 million illegal immigrants in this country.

Trump also claims to have evidence that the Mexican government is purposely sending criminals to the US.
But he hasn't released this evidence. Trump promises to do so "soon".

Presidential candidate Donald Trump faced questions about immigration policy from reporters Thursday at the U.S.-Mexico border amid roiling controversy about his bombastic style and his controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.

He did not respond to a question from NBC News regarding what he plans to do about the nation's estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants.

"First thing we have to do is strengthen our borders and after that we'll have plenty of time to talk about it," he said.

Asked if his tour of the border yielded any evidence to support his claim that Mexico is "sending criminals" over the border, Trump promised to produce documentation but offered no details.

"We'll be showing you the evidence," he said, declining to elaborate.
