Hilarious moment on Morning Joe today. I watched several members of the American press, which breathlessly covers every move, and every utterance Donald Trump makes, scratching their heads in wonder that Trump is doing so well.
Trump’s popularity spikes among Republicans
The press likes a horse race. Bush v Clinton might make good copy later, but now it's just boring. So, if generating excitement means building up the most bombastic nutjob in the field, they are cool with that.
When the time is right, Phase two, AKA tearing the Donald down will be the mission.
The news is a commodity. Package it and sell it.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
