Remember?

Remember that devout Christian couple who wouldn't bake a cake for a lesbian wedding?
Remember how liberal nazis ordered the couple to pay the absurd amount of $135,000 in damages just for not getting a cake? It seemed odd to me that such a high damage award would be given just for a cake transaction. But, that's what the mainstream media was saying.

Funny thing about that narrative,,,,,,,,,, Now, the rest of the story:

‘Persecuted’ Anti-Gay Bakers Forced To Pay $135,000 After Sharing Lesbian Couple’s Address on Facebook

Excerpts;

Oregon Live reports that the Kleins (The Bakers) shared the couple’s personal contact information on their Facebook page — a common right-wing intimidation tactic — which allowed bigots everywhere to send them death threats. The Bowman-Cryers feared that they would lose custody of their foster children thanks to the steady stream of harassment from right-wing bigots who viewed the Kleins as victims of some sort of fascist, anti-Christian sentiment.
,,,,,,,,,,,
The Oregon Bureau of Labor found the Kleins liable for the threats and anguish caused by their callous decision to use right-wing media to further harass their victims, ordering the Christian couple to pay “$60,000 in damages to Laurel Bowman-Cryer and $75,000 in damages to Rachel Bowman-Cryer for emotional suffering.” In addition, the Kleins violated Oregon’s public accommodations law.

“Within Oregon’s public accommodations law is the basic principle of human decency that every person, regardless of their sexual orientation, has the freedom to fully participate in society,” the commissioner ruled. “The ability to enter public places, to shop, to dine, to move about unfettered by bigotry.”

Re: Remember?

Oooops.  Well, I guess there was more to the story wasn't there?  Funny how this little tidbit didn't get reported with the same level of gusto.

Re: Remember?

The media stirring things up again.  Whatever happened to responsible, unbiased journalism?  The responsible newspeople of earlier years must be turning over in their graves.

Re: Remember?

It's a shame. You have outlets like Fox and Breitbart who are willing to shape a story to sell a certain agenda.
And legitimate news organizations are, apparently, too lazy to dig for all the facts, or willing to broadcast anything that stirs the pot.

Re: Remember?

We should also remember just who owns the media outlets ................. the term 'corporate' media is a more appropriate modifier.

Re: Remember?

News events have become two things:

1. A product to sell.
2. A prop to provide affirmation for a pre-existing opinion or point of view.

And, if you have to omit, trim or slant, well you gotta do what ya gotta do.

Re: Remember?

Commit an act of hatred then claim you're the victim.

Always loved how people utterly fail to see this tactic.

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.
