Re: Was she drunk?

I would also question, per the video, Elizabeth Warren's assertion that fast food workers 'deserve a liveable wage'.  That is idiocy, in my opinion.  No one 'deserves' anything, and fast food food jobs, outside of management, have never paid a 'liveable wage'.  Perhaps Sarah and Elizabeth could have a battle of the idiots debate on live TV? I watch very little television, but I admit that I would tune in for that!

Re: Was she drunk?

I think that warren would argue that fast food jobs are no longer the first, temporary, wrung on the career ladder. Some people raising families, who in an earlier time would have gotten a manufacturing job are now stuck in the service sector due to factors beyond their control.

You may disagree with the premise, but I cannot see how you could watch that video and state that warren is like that cartoonish character. Palin. I disagree in the strongest terms

Warren certainly isn't cartoonish like Palin is (Palin is like a real life SNL sketch), but no I don't agree that fast food jobs should pay a living wage(which no one can even define what 'living wage' is).  You start out in fast food, or similar low-rung work, like most of us have, and you work your way up.

Re: Was she drunk?

See, who  needs sarah palin with her weird comments? You could do a much better job debating this topic with Warren than palin ever could.

I actually have mixed feelings on the subject and would appreciate a sober assessment of it.
My point is that sober assessment isn't palins schtick. Better that the gop hand that job over to one of the adults in the party

Well who the hell couldn't argue against Elizabeth Warren better than Sarah Palin can? Lol.  I see dumbness on both sides though.  Warren presents an illogical argument, and Palin argues illogically against her illogical argument, even brings story books into it.  They would be funny to watch debate each other.

Re: Was she drunk?

Hey, I appreciate the entertainment value in watching Palin perform. I did bring that clip here, after all.

But I agree with Fred. The fact that a person like that could get on a major party ticket for a job that puts her a heartbeat away from the presidency,,, suddenly I'm not laughing

I agree, that prospect is scary.  But, I think choosing a nitwit as a VP candidate is intentional.  Look at Obama, no matter how bad he is, with Joe Biden as VP, he can always feel safe knowing no one will mess with him because the guy next in line is even worse.

As long as I've been alive, the Vice President has always been the retarded step child.  I'm pretty sure that's on purpose.  Any president sure as heck isn't going to have someone who is smarter than they are as their VP.

Re: Was she drunk?

Actually, I may be one of the few people outside of Delaware who likes Joe Biden.
Go figure.

As for the VP job, I agree, Presidential candidates don't want someone to overshadow them. The VP often gets  chosen for that and for the real, or  imagined, chance that they help the candidate carry a certain region, state or demographic, NOT for their aptitude for the big job.
But, man, they took it to extremes with Palin!

Oh no doubt, Palin is like 'dude, WTF are you thinking!' I'm thinking they thought her looks would sell her.  Well, she is a good looking woman, but damn I don't think any looks can overcome that brain.  I would feel better with Beavis and Butthead as our Vice Presidents.

Re: Was she drunk?

Let's see--just off the top of my head--there was Veep Harry Truman who once & for all ended WWII, forcing Japan's surrender.  Perhaps before you were born but nonetheless ol' Harry faired pretty well.
