It's Pea Season!

My husband happened to be at Morningstar Market on Saturday and saw fresh peas at one of the stands.  He bought several boxes to bring home.  I blanch them and freeze so we can enjoy them throughout the winter.  I got  6 baggies full when I was done  plus some to eat this week.  They are sweet as candy.  Get them when you see them.  They don't last long.

Dish on some recipes, florentine!

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I like them plain, Goose.  They have a wonderful fresh, sweet flavor.

My husband likes creamed peas and potatoes.  Just cook the potatoes in water, add peas when potatoes are almost done and cook until peas are tender.  In another saucepan make a white sauce with equal parts butter and flour and milk until desired consistency and combine with drained peas and potatoes.

If you are not watching your diet, you can make the potatoes and peas  in heavy cream.  Delish......

Creamed peas & potatoes.  A favorite dish of my childhood.  Thanks for the reminder.
