We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

For local York area Veterans and their families:   Today also happens to be National Donut Day, commemorating the "doughboys" of World War One and the Salvation Army "donut lassies" who went into the trenches with them to provide shaving kits, stationary and stamps, and, of course, donuts.

Stop by the York Salvation Army at 124 S. Duke Street between 9 and 11 this morning for free donuts and coffee!

Good historical information from the both of you. Thanks !

In looking at the picture of Ike, it always makes me wonder when seeing such pictures where a commander is sending his troops into battle that will likely result in mass casualties what goes through their minds when talking to the men as well as aftrwards when the reports of the actual casualties come in.
