Another thing we should add has to do with something Common brought up.  That is that a charitable donation doesn't necessarily mean a monetary contribution.  Volunteer work also falls under the 'charitable contribution' catagory, too.

Good point. So many times it's what we personally can do that is so much more important than money.

Look for opportunities to help.


We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

There are so many worthy ones.  We give to the Margaret Moul Home, the Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, Animal Rescue, and Planned Parenthood.

Another good local charity you should consider is Olivia's House.

I'll give due credit to my wife for reminding me of their excellent work.
