Another One Bites the Dust

Another Trump official slinks away, her name ruined.
Nikki Haley is the only one to have exited the Trump orbit with her reputation intact.

Nielsen resigns as DHS secretary after White House meeting with Trump

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

I've heard two separate reports ................. she resigned or was fired?  Or, maybe asked to resign or be fired.

The Revolving Door aka the Trump White House Administration !!

Here is a recent article of a reminder of that very fact.
Let's just hope we don't have a real crisis to deal with given the ineptitude of this Administration to fill and keep people in key roles.

The Turnover at the Top of the Trump Administration Is Unprecedented

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

And, it ain't over yet:

Washington (CNN) -  White House senior adviser Stephen Miller wants to make sure that outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is only the first of a string of senior officials headed out the door.Trump administration officials say that Miller, who played key a role in Nielsen's ouster, also wants the President to dismiss the director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Lee Cissna, and the department's general counsel, John Mitnick.

A senior administration official also said that under the law, DHS Under Secretary of Management Claire Grady, the current acting deputy secretary, is next in line of succession to be acting secretary. That means there are questions as to whether she will need to be fired as well in order to make Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan the acting DHS secretary, as Trump tweeted Sunday night.

Miller's heightened influence within the West Wing has been aided by the President, who recently told aides in an Oval Office meeting that Miller was in charge of all immigration and border related issues in the White House, according to a person familiar with the meeting.

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

She rose the through the ranks during the Bush administration.   Some claim that she was too much of a globalist/GOP-Establishment to fully support this President's more isolationist agenda.

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

Yet another person who entered with a good reputation and left with it in tatters.
Whether one thinks it fair or not, Nielson will be forever known as the lady who put children in cages.

Only Nikki Haley has gotten out with he name intact.

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

To listen to the twenty-something Congresswoman from the Bronx, the former Secretary's only option should be (literally) to fall on her sword aka commit Hari Kari.   The Bronx cheerleader says that Nielsen should never be allowed to have another job.   Who appointed her as judge, jury, and executioner?

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

Don't know, Tarnation, but the strategy seems to be to gut the DHS, create chaos, and blame Obama for the mess at the border.  That about right?

Re: Another One Bites the Dust

Fred has a point. A large part of the current crisis smells of being intentional, or due to incompetence.

And the freshman Congresswoman from the Bronx has no say in nielson's future emplyment prospects, obviously. She is only important because the Foxosphere has breathlessly covered her every utterance to elevate her to status as the new bogeyman, to scare the base into action.
