    It's just one giant soap opera reality show.  Running the country has become an annoying after-thought. Geez.

    Because it works.

    The Trumpkins love the fights, the pettier the better.
    Policy does not seem to excite the Trump base. Expressing their hate, and Telling off the people he hates animates them.
    The Trump presidency is like pro-wrestling, not ideology.
    Trump presents us with the shiny object. His magic is to find villain after villain to attack. Heck, when need be, Trump will even go after a dead guy.

    The crowd cheers as he owns the libs, tears into X, makes Y's head explode.

    Meanwhile, behind the scenes wealth continues to be transferred to the moneyed class.

    We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
