Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS - Whatever happened to Global Warming?

4:23 PM - 21 Nov 2018

So, in summary, it got really cold for a few days in the Northeast US in November.
Therefore there is no climate change occurring.

BTW, a weather event that Shatters records,,,,,,,
Does not climate change predict exactly that?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: The Idiot in the White House

Evidently he cant distinguish between climate change and weather.  Who was this guy's science teacher anyway.  Or maybe he skipped that class?

Re: The Idiot in the White House

Dear Mr. Trump, allow me to give you a quick lesson in climate change:

1.  As the mean temp of the earth rises, the evaporation rate in the oceans increases.

2.  Adding moisture to the atmosphere increases the energy carried in the atmosphere.  You may have noticed that cold air is drier than warmer air and carries less energy because there are fewer water molecules in it.

3.  Ok, so if we increase atmospheric energy we therefore create variations in wind patterns ........... some areas will get more rain as those winds travel over the earth, while other areas will see less depending upon where and how the wind shifts.

4.  This increased atmospheric energy can also create more violent weather pattern changes ......... some areas might experience more powerful hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. in some places and longer and more severe droughts in others.

5.  Science tells us CO2 tends to hold heat in and therefore heat which would normally dissipate into the upper levels of the atmosphere remains closer to the earth ........ thus, the term 'global warming'.  However, people like you who don't understand the science behind what's going on, I prefer the term 'climate change'.  Some people (evidently you included) think 'global warming' means it should be getting warmer, not colder, in your little piece of the world.

6.  Finally, please understand we are all aware that climates have in fact changed since the beginning of time. The problem we face today is the accelerated rate that it is occurring. When climates change slowly over hundreds of centuries, plant and animal life at least has time adjust via evolution.  However, when changes occur quickly ( a mean temperature change of 1 degree over a couple thousand years would be considered quick in geological terms) could be too stressful for living species to adjust.

P.S.  The melting of ice caps and subsequent rises in ocean levels is directly related to climate change, but that's for another time.  I'll let what wrote so far to sink in.

Thanks for listening, Fred
