Round up the cattle. Bolt the doors. Hide your womenfolk. Because an onslaught of illegals is coming to kill you.
Just in time for midterms.
I can just see the Republican strategy meeting.
"What should we offer them?"
"A new health insurance system? "
Nah, we lost that one".
"Cut the deficit?"
"Have you seen the latest numbers? It's ballooning to the Trillion dollar mark."
"What to do. What to do?"
"Oh heck, let's do what we always do. Tell them that they are under siege. Tell them to be afraid of the other. Democrat mobs. Brown people",,,,,
Trump Threatens Military Shutdown of Mexican Border Because of Migrant ‘Onslaught'
President Donald Trump is threatening to send the military to close the southern U.S. border unless Mexico stops what he calls an “onslaught” of Central American migrants who are now poised to enter Mexico from its border with Guatemala.
A caravan of nearly 3,000 people left San Pedro Sula in Honduras late last week, making their way through Guatemala’s muddy jungle and residential streets to reach Mexico and eventually the United States.
Trump claims there are criminals among the migrants and is urging Mexico, “in the strongest terms” to stop them.

You nailed it. Spread the fear! Spread the fear!
BTW, do you think these people know the difference between an immigrant and a refugee?

On the Richter scale of those things we as a country need to worry about, this is barely a blip.

But, you will find no other issue that so motivates the base of the Republican party than this one

FEAR is the GOP "go to".
FEAR of your guns being taken.
FEAR of anyone not like your religion.
FEAR of immigrants.
The list goes on and on.

And, it never ends.
Republicans firmly in control of all three branches of government still tell their supporters that their freedoms and way of life is somehow under siege.
And the poor fools believe it.

You might think that, as mid terms approach, Republicans would be touting low unemployment, or economic growth more than they are.
But, that's not what Im seeing.
Republicans have not embraced that script. Instead, they’ve embraced the path set out by Trump in the 2016 presidential election: constant, unyielding demonization of their opponents.
Democrats are slandered as wanting 'mob rule'. Poor brown migrants are an 'onslaught'.
Republicans have decided that fear and bigotry work for them, so that's where they are going.
