Sad time for the Southern Coastal states

We go every year about this same time to the Outer Banks (we were due to go this coming weekend for a week). This will be the first time in 8 or 9 years that we have had to abandon the trip. Looks like even IF the evacs are lifted that what will be left and what will have to be navigated even to get there is just going to be too much.

While for us who were going it is merely a big disappointment, there are millions whose homes, jobs, and lives are on the line who live and work there. We can hope for the best but this looks like it will be a devastating storm and likely long aftermath.

The only fortunate thing is that there has been plenty of warning and it looks like millions are heeding that warning.
