A group of President Donald Trump's most ardent supporters in the House of Representatives have sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, formally nominating the President for a Nobel Peace Prize.
The nomination was spearheaded by Indiana's Rep. Luke Messer, who is locked in a fierce GOP primary battle in the Hoosier State for a Senate seat.

President Trump has advanced peace and unification of the Korean peninsula more than any other POTUS in sixty years.
Even if it talks ultimately fail, he has accomplished something.
His predecessor was awarded the Nobel prize before he had taken the oath of office.

Seems like applying to receive the Stanley Cup before the first playoff game is over.
But, Yea, he did tweet insulting nicknames about the NK despot and threaten preemptive war and destruction the likes of which has never been seen before. If that doesn't just scream 'Peace', I just don't know what does.

I might disagree, Tarnation. However, if holding a gun to someone's head, they back down and you declare 'peace' as the route to a settlement, then I guess I'm missing something.

He hasn't exactly spoken softly, but he has made the world know that he/we carry a big stick and are willing to use is.
The destruction of stockpiled chemical weapons in Syria came just a couple of days before the Korean breakthrough.
Those dots should be connected. The dictators of the world know that they are dealing with someone like Reagan

Actually this is primarily what KIM wanted --- to be on the International Stage with the rest of the world powers. He has accomplished his goal. His nuclear program actually took a huge hit when the mountain next to the test site collapsed making a lot of his nuclear program useless at this point, so no great deal in announcing a halting. Will he also draw back developing missles ? Maybe. The S Korean President has wanted to have meeting and negotiate a peace for awhile. S Korea will be the big winner out of this and PERHAPS we can finally wind down our presence there after 50+ years.

Maybe so, but don't eliminate the possibility the dictators of the world might realize they may be dealing with someone crazier than they are ............... or maybe a future dictator wannabe with a powerful military.
As Trump would say, "Let's see what happens."
