As a registered Independent voter, I’m not allowed to vote for candidates in the primary unless an Independent candidate is running. But, I’ve noticed that two of the republican candidates for governor have taken their campaign ads into the gutter. Scott Wagner and Paul Mango are starting to focus their attacks on each other rather than solely against Governor Wolf. Both of them touting their experience as businessmen as viable experience to be in charge of government (geee . . . where have I heard that before, and how has that worked out) and telling us what a loser their party opponent is. That tells me the product that they’re selling has little value, so their only strategy is to make the other guy’s product sound worse. Kinda like: “you think my ideas are bad, look at my opponent because his are really bad”. The funny part of that argument is that if you research these two guys and their political stances, they are two peas in a pod . . . Trump wannabes.
I hope the voters wise up, disregard both of these guys and their negative advertising, and vote for someone based on their record on viable issues. If they don’t, we’ll end up with another self serving, deflecting, untruthful Bozo in Harrisburg and total chaos in the government. Both Wagner and Mango are mere Trumpian clones with no concept of collaboration, cooperation, and compromise to actually get things done.

I gotta admit that it's somewhat interesting and entertaining watching members of the same tribe throw poop at eachother, but that's where it ends for me. Eventually it might be nice to actually tell us what's good about yourself, your vision, your ideas, your stances on various issues and policies and let us peasants decide who might be the best candidate to support.

Gutter politics seems to have become the new norm for many.
