Why?

Why is America so angry?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Why?

False question.

This morning, I saw people opening doors for one another at the Wawa. People letting people jump in line to get their coffee. An organized traffic flow up Route 1 and people giving one another a hearty and friendly good morning at the office.

Those who are truly "angry" are outliers and given way more attention than they deserve. For the most part, people are good. Friendly. Kind and considerate. But because it's the norm, no one pays much attention.

Re: Why?

A pervasive "us against them" attitude pedaled by politicians, talking heads, news media, special interest groups, opinion writers, and fear mongers that some people buy into because they are dissatisfied with their lives.

Ha!  Reminds me of a book I think came out years ago entitled, "I'm Not My Fault".  Anyone else remember that one?

Re: Why?

Because fomenting hatred drives people to the polls.

What could possibly go wrong?

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.
