China takes the pole position in the electric car race

The subject title was a good article in the Jan 29th, 2018 issue of TIME magazine.

We think of Elon Musk and his electric car as a shining beacon of American ingenuity and although that is somewhat true, we are being taken to the woodshed by China in their pursuit of being the leader in electric cars.

Here were a couple of standout items from the article--- 5,000 is the number of 3s electric Tesla models that Tesla said it will build weekly by mid-2018. At the same time 700,000 is the number of electric cars sold in China in the past year (2017).

China is invested heavily in electric and electric cars and is offering about 15k incentive per vehicle. Meanwhile China earlier this year halted production of 500 models of heavily polluting vehicles.

If you have the time find and read the article.
