President Trump said Monday that the deadly Amtrak derailment shows the need for a new infrastructure plan, while offering his “thoughts and prayers” to the victims of the Washington state tragedy.
“The train accident that just occurred in DuPont, WA shows more than ever why our soon to be submitted infrastructure plan must be approved quickly. Seven trillion dollars spent in the Middle East while our roads, bridges, tunnels, railways (and more) crumble! Not for long!” Trump tweeted.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

IF we were going to increase the deficit, THIS (the infrastructure) would have been a MUCH better decision rather than the massive tax break for BIG BUSINESS. Now as it stands this will just ADD ON to the already extra $1.5 Trillion in deficit. Trump, the King of Debt.

The information that I am seeing says that it was a new train, on a new track. And that excessive speed may have been involved.
I sure do wish that our President would know what he is talking about before taking to Twitter.

The train was traveling at 81 mph in a speed zone posted at 30mph. However, it's not surprising to me that Trump tweeted what he did because he is prone to make knee-jerk statements before he has the facts. He has done this over and over and over again.
This might partially explain why he went bankrupt 4 times.

For a while yesterday, there was a conspiracy floating around the alt-right fringes that Antifa actually derailed the train as some sort of domestic terror attack.
