This is How Republics Die

Yesterday we reached a new low.

Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway was asked about the candidacy of Alabama's Roy Moore.
Moore has been accused of molesting girls.

Conway did not defend Moore. She didn't say that the charges were untrue.

She said, "We Need His Tax Bill Vote".

When you defend a child molester because he belongs to your tribe, when you put tribalism above your own morals, your God, and the safety of children,,,,,,,, you have hit rock bottom.

“There is no Senate seat worth more than a child,” she said last week. Unless that Senate seat is voting on tax reform, apparently.

Alabama pastor: I’d back Moore even if sexual assault allegations were true

An Alabama pastor said that he will continue to support GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore, even if it is proven true that he sexually molested teenage girls.

“Plus, there are some 14-year-olds, who, the way they look, could pass for 20,” Wise added.

"Oh and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No angel born in Hell
Could break that Satan's spell

And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day the music died"

Re: This is How Republics Die

So god hates gay people but loves child molesters?

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.

Re: This is How Republics Die

Okay, so here's what we have:

1.  Chase people down, attempt to detain them, then shoot them dead when they decide they do not wish to be detained by a complete stranger:  Check

2.  Find a boy fucking your daughter, shoot them dead:  Check

3.  Someone TP'd your house, shoot them dead:  Check

4.  Molested children but have a vote so you get a pass:  Check

5.  Molested children but has the support of a "religious" institution so get a pass:  Check

This about right so far?

I know I missed a lot...on purpose.

Here’s another:
Take a knee during the national anthem, get denounced and called a sonofabitch by the president.
Molest a 14 year old, get a pass

Re: This is How Republics Die

He can condemn football players for kneeling. He can criticize Gold Star mothers.

But, he can't think one negative thought about a guy who used to try to bang 14 year olds.

And, he is our President.

This is what rock bottom looks like.

Trump plays down Roy Moore allegations, blasts 'liberal rival' in Alabama race

President Trump minimized allegations of sexual misconduct against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore Tuesday, telling voters not to support Moore's Democratic opponent.

"I can tell you one thing for sure," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a Thanksgiving break at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla. "We don't need a liberal person in there, a Democrat [Doug] Jones ... We do not need somebody that's going to be bad on crime, bad on borders, bad with the military, bad for the Second Amendment."

When pressed on the allegations against Moore, some of which date back 40 years, Trump said, "Look, he denies it ... He says it didn't happen, and you know, you have to listen to him also."

The president also did not rule out campaigning for Moore ahead of the Dec. 12 special election, telling the reporters, "I'll be letting you know next week." Trump backed Moore's defeated opponent, Sen. Luther Strange, in September's primary runoff election.
