More nuttiness from college professors. Thankfully a district court has ordered him to pay $17,000 in damages.
Fresno State University Professor Remains Defiant After Court Ordered Fine and First Amendment Training
We previously discussedthe case of Fresno State University Public Health Professor Dr. Gregory Thatcher recruited students to destroy pro-life messages written on the sidewalks and wrongly told the pro-life students that they had no free speech rights in the matter.
As I stated earlier, I find it extraordinary that the university did not seriously discipline or terminate Thatcher, but he still remains on the faculty. A district court has now ordered Thatcher to pay $17,000 and undergo First Amendment training. However, Thatcher remains defiant and the university appears complicit in his actions by the lack of disciplinary action. The pro-life students had written messages on the sidewalk like “You CAN be pregnant & successful” and “Unborn lives matter” to “Women need love, NOT abortion.”
The lawsuit alleges that Thatcher got students from his 8 a.m. class to help remove the anti-abortion messages and that their chalk was taken away to write pro-choice slogans on the sidewalk.

Ok, great, an interesting anecdotal story. Now what should we do with nutty professors, while we're on the topic of nuttiness, how about nutty plumbers, comcast workers, trash haulers, electricians, termite inspectors, accountants, dentists, lawyers, hotel owners, air traffic controllers, doctors, surgeons, roofers, waiters, etc. What do we do about, as you say, "nuttiness"?

Yea, it plays into the anti-educational narrative of the Trump cult

The Prof was totally wrong on this, but it seems like the R-tribe wants to blame everything on the educational process. The opposite is more the case. We are a nation that needs to embrace education to compete in the global economy. We can have a backward looking vision or forward looking vision. The former will take us nowhere.
