Tim McGraw and Faith Hill voice support for gun control

"Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians," Hill, 50, said. "It’s everyone’s responsibility, including the government and the National Rifle Association, to tell the truth. We all want a safe country."

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill voice support for gun control: 'We all want a safe country'

Following last month's tragedy in Las Vegas, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are voicing their support for gun control.

A lone shooter opened fire at a music festival last month in Las Vegas, killing 58 people and wounding nearly 500 others.

"Look, I’m a bird hunter -- I love to wing shoot. However, there is some common sense that’s necessary when it comes to gun control," McGraw told Billboard magazine.

The country singers spoke to the music magazine before a gunman in Texas targeted churchgoers last Sunday, killing 26.

"They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it’s brought up," McGraw added. "It’s not about the Second Amendment."

McGraw, 50, and Hill are promoting their first album together, "The Rest of Our Lives," out Nov. 17.

"In reference to the tragedy in Las Vegas," his wife continued, “we knew a lot of people there. The doctors that [treated] the wounded, they saw wounds like you’d see in war. That’s not right."

"Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians," Hill, 50, said. "It’s everyone’s responsibility, including the government and the National Rifle Association, to tell the truth. We all want a safe country."

Oh, Oh.  This may not go down well for some country-western music followers.

Well now that the Trumpsters have now decided the NFL is something not to support and IF you add Country music and NASCAR (Dale Jr supporting the NFL players rights), the things the sheeple can support is really dwindling.

Somehow I don't see many of them as golfers !

Re: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill voice support for gun control

Just a couple more celebrities that don't have a clue what they are talking about. Why do people want to listen to them run their yaps about gun control?
Civilians don't have military weapons. The insane shooter bought each weapon legally. He passed the background check each time. But the anti-gun folks scream something must be done. They don't care if the something does nothing to keep people safer, just do something!

Stick to singing folks.......

Why? They are citizens, the same as you and me. What's wrong with them commenting on the mass slaughter occurring in this nation?
Do you confine your comments solely to your trade?

McGraw and Hill seem more sensible, and frankly more concerned about their fellow man, than a guy who posts here.
And, they happen to be right. The AR-15 is not appropriate for the civilian  marketplace.
Obviously.
The AR-15 bears about as much resemblance to Dad's hunting rifle as a firecracker does to a grenade.
Because of the weapons’ quasi-military design, even an unskilled hand can pull the trigger 40 times in a minute.
It's time to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

BTW, I just love being told how "Clueless" celebrities are by someone who voted for a reality show host to be President of the United States.

The whackos are truly anyone NOT supporting legitimate gun reforms that can be done without infringing on anyones legal rights. There are so many things that could be done but have been ignored.  We have been down this rabbit hole time and time again.
