Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Don’t forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!

Republicans may eventually come to this conclusion:  You can win a primary against other Republicans by embracing Donald Trump, but winning an election might be a completely different animal.

Re: Ed Goes Under the Bus

That's a good point, Fred. Republican candidates are in a box.
Trump is wildly unpopular in the general electorate, yet remains very popular among the people who show up for republican primaries. I just don't know how a candidate navigates that landscape.

Trump has failed to score a legislative victory thus far in his Presidency. But, his biggest failure has been to fail over the past year to attract any support beyond the 37% of people that love him.
I mean, do you know anybody who did not vote for him a year ago who supports him now?

It will be interesting in 2020. Trumpers are exactly the people who will show up for republican primaries that year. So Trump, unless he is under indictment, will be a lock for the nomination.
Not exactly something Republicans will be over joyed about in November

“Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for.”

Once again, Trump, in his inevitable style, makes it all about him.

Me, me, me.      I, I, I.

Last night, in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County, Democrats one every school board race and every municipal race. It was the biggest win for Democrats in LanCo. in 30 years.

In Bucks County, with the exception of District Attorney, Democrats won every row office.

A transgender woman who sings in a metal band won her Virginia House of Delagates race against the guy who wrote the discriminatory bathroom bill.

A considerable number of existing GOP legislators at the state and federal level may sense an overwhelming wave coming and may just bail on next year's elections.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Trump will NEVER accept any blame.

Re: Ed Goes Under the Bus

Republican nightmare.
They can’t win a primary without trump;
And they can’t win a general election outside of the South with him.
THAT is why a 38% approval rating is important.

Lager may be right. Look for a wave of republican retirements.
