President Trump has fake Time magazine covers of himself hanging at his golf courses
He never warned us about fake magazines.
President Trump — who tweets near-daily admonishments about “fake news” — has faux Trump-emblazoned Time magazine covers adorning walls at his golf courses, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
The March 1, 2009 issue — an nonexistent issue that coincides with the eighth season premiere of “Celebrity Apprentice” — features the mogul turned President with a solemn mug and arms crossed.
“It is not a real TIME cover,” a Time spokesperson confirmed to the Daily News.
The Trump-related cover lines read almost like advertisements for his reality-show empire: “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” they say. “Trump is hitting on all fronts ... even TV!”
A Time magazine cover depicting Trump with the headline “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” has been seen in at least four Trump Organization golf clubs, according to the Post's report. A spokeswoman for Time confirmed to the Post that the cover is fake and was never published as an issue of the magazine.
“I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover,” Kerri Chyka wrote to The Washington Post in an email.
