Trump is blaming Democrats for his own failure on nominations

You know, I am beginning to wonder if Trump has any intention of doing anything.
Seems like his only concern is to create  a sense of grievance over the things that are not done.

Trump is blaming Democrats for his own failure on nominations

The pattern is one we’ve come to expect.

1. The television appearance.David Bossie, former deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential effort, appeared on “Fox and Friends” on Monday morning and argued that confirming Trump’s ambassador picks — such as his ambassador to the United Kingdom — needs to happen “at a quicker pace.

2. The tweet.Trump, watching at the White House, takes that argument and runs with it in a tweet.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 3h3 hours ago .@foxandfriends Dems are taking forever to approve my people, including Ambassadors. They are nothing but OBSTRUCTIONISTS! Want approvals

3. The reality. But that tweet is misleading and incorrect. The Washington Post, along with the Partnership for Public Service, has been tracking Trump’s nominations to fill Senate-confirmable positions in his administrations. Of the 559 positions that require such confirmation, Trump has announced 117 people to fill the positions, fewer than other recent presidents.

In the context of the current discussion, there are two important figures to point out. The first is that, of 50 ambassador positions to be filled, Trump hasn’t announced a nominee for 38 of them, according to our data.

Then there are 15 people who he has announced to fill positions but for whom he hasn’t begun the formal nomination process. Once Trump says “I am going to appoint John Smith to serve as ambassador,” the Senate doesn’t automatically start voting on it. The White House needs to submit that nomination formally to allow for the nominee to be confirmed

So, for example, there are 50 ambassador vacancies, he's nominated 12 people, hasn't formally completed the nomination process, and blames the Democrats for obstructing what he hasn't done?

There seems to be a familiar pattern with Trump being "it is NEVER HIS FAULT" !!

Re: Trump is blaming Democrats for his own failure on nominations

On Morning Joe they said that there still are over 500 vacancies in the government that are filled by presidential appointment, and that Trump has only offered 102 names up for nomination. And, it's June.

It's odd. Because of all of the drama, the offensive statements, the scandals,,,,,,, it seems like so much is happening, so fast.

But, if you look at the things that actually need to get done,,,, infrastructure, the opioid epidemic, healthcare, fighting terrorism, wage stagnation, jobs in Appalachia, ambassadors, agency heads,,a tax bill,, NOTHING is happening.

Trump is the tweet much, do little President.

Let's see, Trump managed to nominate a guy for the supreme court who would be on anybody's short list. Then he managed to win exactly zero democratic votes for him. The House managed to pass a healthcare bill that apparently, the Senate won't touch.

Pretty thin soup.

Hey, I oppose pretty much everything that Trump is for.
So, I say, Tweet on my friend. Please continue to be our Pretend President as the clock continues to run.

Tweet on!
