The Rise of the Adults

Inside the administration The Establishment, AKA serious adults are beginning to assert their primacy over the populist "Burn it down" fools, the dangerous kooks, The isolationists and the children. The end of Flynn, and the decline of Bannon & Conway, are good things. Now, "all" Trump needs is a coherent vision for the country, and someone with expertise in advancing his ideas through legislation.

Pompeo mocks Kellyanne Conway's microwave surveillance claims

CIA Director Mike Pompeo mocked White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Thursday for suggesting microwaves can be used for surveillance.

During his first remarks since being sworn in to lead the agency, Pompeo praised his staff for its "talent" and selfless decision to dedicate their lives in "service to their country."

"They quietly go about their work and try not to get too worked up over the headlines, including the fanciful notion that they spy on their fellow citizens via microwave ovens," Pompeo said at the Center for Strategic and Internation Studies.

Conway received criticism last month when during a visit to her New Jersey home she told the local newspaper, the Bergen Record, that spying could be done through "microwaves that turn into cameras."

Her comments were in reference to President Trump's allegations that former President Barack Obama's administration had wiretapped Trump Tower to spy on his campaign.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: The Rise of the Adults

So, as a campaign strategy idiocy works but as an administration, it doesn't?

Who knew?

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.

Re: The Rise of the Adults

Yea, campaigning and governing are different things.

Of course, Donald will have to keep the crazies around, hopefully at arms length to help him with The Base.

As we have seen here, many Trumpers don't really know much about our problems, and don't care to learn anything about policy, science, etc.
They approach politics like a soccer match with a bitter rival.
They like the outlandish statements, are nearly begging Trump for incendiary tweets.
They want to continue in attacks on "Crooked Hillary", even as she fades into obscurity. Going off on her is more interesting to them than what Trump might actually do in office.

These people want nothing more than the entertainment of fighting liberals, the thrill of angering environmentalists, the joy of insulting elites.
 It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
