It was never going to NOT happen.
In the long run the R-tribe may have screwed themselves with their action to get him in.
We saw with Garland Merrick that there is no more notion of appointing a qualified candidate. It is only about politics.

I'm still trying understand what makes Gorsuch such a swell pick for the Supreme Court. All I ever get is that Trump nominated him and he favors corporate interests over the citizenry of the country, which I suppose the wealthiest people find very favorable.

I hope Gorsuch ends up being another Kennedy or Souter and votes with both groups on the court and doesn't just sit there and vote without thinking with the republican group like Thomas.
