"Job growth is off to a strong start in 2017," Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, said in a statement. "The gains are broad-based but most notable in the goods producing side of the economy including construction, manufacturing and mining."The report comes amid hopes that President Donald Trump can deliver on his pro-growth agenda of lower taxes, less regulation and more infrastructure spending.

Economic data points have been mixed lately, with sentiment surveys outpacing actual hard data of activity.Job growth has been a particular strength so far, and the ADP report could fuel higher expectations. The report comes two days before the Labor Department releases its closely watched employment report for March.

While the jobs numbers are great, the quote above is what keeps me grounded.

President Trump hasn't been able to work with Congress at all so far, so what is his game plan for getting a complex issue like restructuring the tax code through the house and senate?

On top of that, the House is only working something like 5 days this month. They're about to go on a two week vacation and when they get back, they're going to have four days to figure out how to raise the debt ceiling and keep the government open. So these important big ticket items like taxes, regs, and infrastructure aren't going to get passed anytime soon. Investors and employers are going to start getting skittish is they don't see progress.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

We ALL hope that the recovery can continue to gain momentum. As to whether Trump can deliver the tax cuts as promised on the campaign trail remains to be seen. Without somehow paying for the cuts somehow it will be tough sailing to deliver on those promises.

We will see soon if those deficit hawks really were convinced that deficits matter.

We also have the debt ceiling quickly approaching which could consume a lot of political capital.
