Every year tens of millions of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen work with NRA to advance pro-gun reforms and defeat attacks on our fundamental right to keep and bear arms. This past year, the challenges and opportunities were significant at the state level, including a continuing threat from Michael Bloomberg and his affiliated gun control groups in state capitals.
We faced Bloomberg’s falsehoods and a biased news media that was all too willing to perpetuate his agenda. Bloomberg’s contempt for gun owners has only grown stronger, but examples of our success at the state level confirm that despite his relentless propaganda, the majority of Americans continue to support the Second Amendment and our God-given right to self-defense.

Are guns at some particular risk today with a Republican Preisident, A republican controlled House, and a Republican held Senate?
Have you been appointed head of PR for the NRA? Because that is the only explanation I can come up with for this completely irrelevant commercial.

This 'law-abiding citizen' thing really cracks me up. Hey, here's a news flash ............. EVERYBODY is a 'law-abiding citizen until they choose not to be. Geez.
Now when Studley Funwell decides not to be a 'law-abiding citizen', he could punch you in the mouth or blow you away with his musket or squeeze off 50 rounds of ammo with his AR-15 and turn you into Swiss cheese.
Now, Common you and the NRA identify all the 'law-abiding citizens' living in America and I'll approve of any and all the weapons they want.

I've been scratching my head about this. Why does an oddly untimely post about the "heroic" efforts of the NRA show up on this board?
After all, Gun rights are more secure than they have been at any other time during my 57 years on this planet.
What's up?
Then I saw this:
Without Obama, once-booming gun industry poised to shrink
President Trump’s election appears to be negatively affecting gun sales in the U.S. and the bubble appears to be bursting despite a staunch advocate for gun rights in the White House and Republicans ruling Congress.
,,,,,,,,
Fears of government limits on guns -- some real, some perceived -- led to a surge in demand during Obama's tenure and manufacturers leapt to keep up. Over the decade ending in 2015, the number of U.S. companies licensed to make firearms jumped 362 percent.
,,,,,,,,,,,
The Washington Post reported that the FBI conducted about 500,000 fewer background checks in December 2016 than in 2015. Gun sales this year have reportedly dropped about 17 percent.
Now I get it.
The gun lobby needs frightened gun owners.
They need to maintain the illusion that gun owners are under siege.
The NRA needs an enemy.
And if they don't have a real enemy, they will create one.
So, they offer up Michael Bloomberg.
And the poor, ignorant souls will eat it up.

Without fear, gun sales NATURALLY drop, so we have to whip up fear somehow !!

Maybe with the election of Donald Trump, the NRA could use that to convince non-gun owners to change their minds and stock up.
