Mike Flynn Offers to Testify in Exchange for Immunity

Former national security adviser tells FBI, the House and Senate intelligence committees he’s willing to be interviewed in exchange for deal, officials say

WASHINGTON—Mike Flynn, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, has told the Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional officials investigating the Trump campaign’s potential ties to Russia that he is willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution,

To quote Mr. Flynn himself when he testified before a congressional committee about Hillary Clinton's use of a personal server:

"When you are given immunity, that means that you have probably committed a crime," Flynn said during the interview.

Can you say Karma?

Someone should bring that up right off the bat and ask him if he meant what he said.  "Mr. Flynn, a simple 'yes' or 'no' will do, thank you."

"If you are not guilty of a crime, what do you need immunity for? Right."

Trump, Flynn once criticized Clinton aides for seeking immunity

"The reason they get immunity is because they did something wrong, if they didn’t do anything wrong, they don’t think in terms of immunity,"

Re: Mike Flynn Offers to Testify in Exchange for Immunity

To be fair, it would be a dereliction of duty if Flynn's lawyer didn't ask for immunity for his client before going into something as politically thorny as a congressional hearing about Russia and the 2016 election.

And my guess is the reason Flynn wants immunity is because the one rap he would need to beat after testifying to Congress would be perjury.

Hence, the reason the Senate denied his request.
