“Mike Pence went from yesterday’s forum on empowering women to today leading a group of male politicians in a vote to take away access to birth control and cancer screenings,” Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood, said in a statement. “There’s a reason they could barely get enough votes to get this bill through a procedural step: People are sick and tired of politicians making it even harder for them to access health care, and they will not stand for it.”

I wrote to Pat Toomey shortly after the vote asking him to explain his politically partisan vote designed to, once again, deny citizens from access to healthcare services. In this case, it primarily targets women's healthcare. I asked him how he could vote to allow this action to pass when the 2 votes that crossed party lines came from female republican senators. Were they the only republican senators that saw this bill for what it is? A blatant attempt to restrict women's healthcare services and defund Planned Parenthood.
Of course, I don't expect him to answer promptly or succinctly address the question seeing as how I just yesterday received a letter dated Feb. 17 from Toomey regarding my concern about Andrew Puzder's qualifications for Secretary of Labor. He obviously waited for Puzder to withdraw so he didn't have to directly address those concerns, and then somebody on his staff forgot to mail it for about 5 weeks. What a schmuck.
