Donald Trump is grasping for cheers and this is just stupid red meat for people who would go to a Donald Trump rally at this point.

The fact of the matter is Colin Kaepernick is a fairly one dimensional QB who had one good season. He would likely be a backup where ever he goes and the draft is still ahead of the league so he'll eventually get picked up but it will be later into the Spring or perhaps before camps starts.

It's perception. If he goes out every couple of weeks and gets a few thousand people to hoot and holler for him, then the perception is that he's still very popular, despite things like Gallup releasing a poll that shows his current approval rating is at 37%. 

He can rant about fake news and Colin Kaepernick and still appear that he has a major audience.

But what he has going against him is that he's not a part of a campaign that dominates the news cycle anymore.

Yesterday, with the FBI revelations and SCOTUS nominee, and the fragile hold Paul Ryan has on the GOP caucus in the House, the only major cable networks who showed the rally speech were (you guessed it) Fox and Fox Business. 

Trump should know better than anyone that some acts were thin very quickly. The first season or two of the Apprentice were just motivated regular folks trying to win a contest. That wore thin and the producers had to change the format where B list celebrities had to be brought on to keep the franchise going. 

Yapping about CNN and Colin Kaepernick and how many electoral votes is starting to wear thin. People are already tuning out because the excitement is wearing off. 
 

An adoring crowd.
Applause lines.
Heroes.
Villains to attack.
It's the greatest show on earth.

Sure, conning isn't leading.
But the people at those rallies can't tell the difference.
