Controlling mass media. I think that is number six on Fred's list of the characteristics of fascism. Just saying

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Trump administration ramps up efforts to block media

Trump isn't "controlling" the media per se. Yes, he obviously is going to go Fox for softball interviews (although to be fair, from what I have read, Tucker Carlson's interview with Trump the other night was tougher than a O'Reilly or Hannity interview), but there are still plenty of good journalists from other organizations still doing good journalism and publishing freely. And it's not like there aren't plenty of leaks coming out of the White House and other gov't agencies.

And additional credit where credit is due to Fox, yesterday three FNC personalities, Shep Smith, Bret Baier, and Charles Krauthammer said unequivocally that Trump has been full of crap when it comes the his wiretapping claims.Krauthammer was particularly harsh.

Charles Krauthammer said this is just a “farce” now because everyone’s chasing their tails on something we all know isn’t true but are “pretending it might be.” Just because the president is the one who made the claim.

It would be nice if Fox issued a statement defending their media colleagues and the industry as a whole regarding the need for pool coverage of the Secretary of State and other high ranking public officials. The American people are entitled to know what our government officials are doing.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump
