46 US attorneys are let go, and they find out in a DOJ press release.
Real classy
Anger mounts over handling of US attorney firings
Washington (CNN)Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked for the resignations of 46 US attorneys, igniting anger from officials who say they were given no warning about their dismissals.
The Justice Department announced the firings Friday afternoon, and many prosecutors had not been formally notified or even told before they were fired, according to a law enforcement source. Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente was in the beginning stages of calling each US attorney individually to tell them they had to resign when the DOJ issued a statement.
A law enforcement source charged that "this could not have been handled any worse" because there was little warning. Many prosecutors found out through media reports that they had to resign today.
A Justice Department spokeswoman explained that forced resignations are a matter of course when turning the agency over to a new administration.
"As was the case in prior transitions, many of the United States attorneys nominated by the previous administration already have left the Department of Justice. The attorney general has now asked the remaining 46 presidentially appointed US attorneys to tender their resignations in order to ensure a uniform transition," Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores said.

This is to be expected from an inept administration.
That said, typically a new president will fire all of his predecessors attorneys. I think Clinton had Janet Reno fired 93 of them. Fortunately, those attorneys should all land sweet gigs in the private law sector.

They are accomplished people and will do fine.
The story is the ineptitude, and the contempt for others.

Apparently, Preet Bharah the Manhattan federal attorney, who Trump initially said would stay on the job but then was asked to resign, has refused to do so.
No response yet from the White House.

How interesting. Apparently Preet Bharah was assured by Trump that he was going to stay on.
A federal prosecutor known for crusading against public corruption is double crossed by Trump.
Hmm.
1540 The BBC is reporting that Bharah has been fired.
Another example that this President's word means nothing.

Yep, Trump fired Bharah. A couple of thoughts.....
Trump probably intended at first to keep Bharah on. By all accounts, and across the spectrum or political opinion, Bharah is a great prosecutor. But two days ago, Sean Hannity said that Trump should fire all carryovers from the Obama administration.
And Donald Trump cannot ignore the instructions of the Hannity/FNC crew.
An incredible display of spinelessness by Trump.
And on top of that, Bharah totally played Trump. Good guy prosecutor forces Trump to fire him out of spite. Bharah captures headlines going into this week's Sunday Shows and is now seen as a political martyr.
Bharah launches a career that could get him to the NY governor's mansion and Trump looks petty and small, especially among his friends in Manhattan.

Yea, Hannity was screaming about it,,, and Trump complied.
Fox did a story on the Sweden Terror thing,,,,,, and the next day Trump inserts a non existent Swedish terror attack into a speech the next day.
Fox alludes to a Breitbart piece on the supposed wiretap,,,,,, and Trump tweets it the next day.
Here is a guy who has all of the information of dozens of well informed agencies at his finger tips,,,,, and he gets his info from Fox.
Unbelievable.
