On January 26th the same Rasmussen poll showed that 59% of likely voters approved of Trump's job performance.
Strongly approve was 44%. and Strongly disapprove was at 31%.
On that date Trump had an approval index of +13.
Looks like the President is losing ground.

If you are a poll watcher, that's fine with me, but how about looking at data collected beyond Rasmussen. Just a suggestion.

Here is the Gallup tracking poll.
They had Trump at 45% approve - 45% disapprove on January 20th.
Since then his numbers have deteriorated to 43% approve - 51% disapprove.
The Economist had Trump at 45% approve - 51% Disapprove on March 1st.
Rasmussen appears to be an outlier.
I wonder why Common uses it.
But, even Rasmussen, as I have pointed out shows that Trump is not doing very well over time.

Exactly.
His address to Congress was actually a relatively positive thing for him, but that was really his only decent showing in recent days. He is back to his old self.

Our friend Common does not seem to understand that the value of a tracking poll is not in simply picking one day and considering it the end of the story.
The true value of a tracking poll is that it uses the same methodology to measure the same thing (In this case Trump's approval/disapproval) again and again over time, and to look at the trend.

That was March 4th.
What a difference a few days make.
Today's Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking poll shows Trump's Approval rating at 49% with 51% disapproving. It is the first time that Rasmussen's poll has shown trump under 50% approval since his inauguration.
The latest figures include 35% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 42% who Strongly Disapprove.
This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -7.
I think that the definitive thing to take away from this is that Trump is the biggest thing getting in Trump's way.
When he gives a speech and acts like a normal human being, his numbers go up.
When he retreats to his Florida club and Tweets lies about president Obama, and taunts Arnold, his numbers go down.
It's not the left.
It's not the press.
It's Donald.
His fans would be wise to keep this in mind.

When the Rasmussen Poll shows a downswing for Trump since it has consistently been the outlier on having good ratings for Trump , you KNOW his popularity is waning big time. He has been his own worst enemy with his mouth and tweets. He will be his own un-doing.

Here's the list of polls published on Real Clear Politics site from Monday.
I guess if you want to be a glass-half-full kind of guy, I supposed you could look at the fact that Trump was at a 60% disapproval rating, on election day. He seems less disliked today.

Hey, based on this polling data, if things get really bad, Trump can always blame the congress. Their approval ratings are dismal, but we the people keep re-electing the same bunch of do-nothing bozos.
When I attended a Scott Perry town hall meeting in the Brogue late last year, I asked him the question "If all of the accomplishments and action plans you and your colleagues have taken credit for were so successful in helping the American people, how do you explain a favorability rating of 12%?"
After a short pause, my representative in the U.S. House of Representatives answered, "I'm surprised it's that high." And he quickly went on to the next question.
What a bunch of losers we currently employ in our government. We are stupid to put up with this crap.
