House Oversight chair: We won't probe Trump's voter fraud claims
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) says his panel will not investigate President Trump's claims of rampant voter fraud in the 2016 election.
"The president said that he thought there was 'widespread voter fraud,' " Chaffetz told CNN's "New Day" on Tuesday morning.
"I don't see any evidence of that. We're not doing an investigation of that. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't."
Trump has repeatedly claimed, without providing evidence, that he would have won the popular vote in November if it hadn't been for "millions of people" illegally casting ballots for former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. He has also called for an investigation into the issue.
