All my life, I knew that Eddie Van Halen is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, a 'rock god', but I never really had an appreciation for him. I was just 'meh, whatever' on his music, and still am to some degree. But, this interview got me appreciating him a whole lot more. He seems like a really down to earth guy, and his approach to guitar playing is like an everyman's approach, not particularly technical at all. He just seems like he picked up a guitar, messed around with it a bit, and wound up making a career out of it. I like the guy. Good interview!

I've never been a fan of Van Halen's music just because it's not my thing, but I always have an appreciation of talent wherever it may be. He always struck me as a decent guy, not jaded and pompous at all really.
