Harrisburg 38th

Where does Harrisburg rank on the best state capitals list?

Which is the best state capital?

While Harrisburg may be the best state capital for many from the midstate, it ranks low when is compared to places like Austin, Salt Lake City and Denver.

Wallethub, a financial advisory site, performed a study looking at the best capitals in the United States. The study took into account all 50 capitols across 42 key indicators of affordability, economic strength, quality of education and health and overall living standards.

Here’s a breakdown of the top 20 state capitals and Harrisburg, according to WalletHub:

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

These type surverys are always a little goofy in their criteria and weightings.

For sure the economic strength of Harrisburg is a real albatross around its neck !!

Re: Harrisburg 38th

Golly, you would think since PA has the largest and most expensive legislature in America, we could at least be among the top 10.

Maybe they should include that in the criteria next time around !

At least it would help offset the financial albatross that former Mayor Reed left the city saddled with.

Re: Harrisburg 38th

My biggest problem with that article is that they say Boise, Idaho is the number two capital (which I'll take their word on) but they show a Boise State player in his road uniform at an away game.

Or, at least, they could have floated some 'incentives' to the people doing the ratings at WalletHub to increase Harrisburg's rating. Isn't that the way they normally do business in Harrisburg?

Spending other people's' money seems to be our legislator's forte.
