I expect Trump's supporters liked that Ryan's wife was present at the speech last night, but to me it was a horrible political use of a wife that had just lost her husband. It was not respectful of the woman's grief at all IMHO.
We still need to hear all the facts related to this horrible tragedy. Some have already dribbled out and it is no wonder that the Administration wants to white-wash the whole thing.

I am always uncomfortable when presidents use people as stage props for these addresses.

Harry Truman understood it. He had a sign with the phrase "the Buck Stops Here".. Of course Truman was a heroic soldier and understood the concept. Trump is more about assigning blame.Exactly.
Mr. Trump,
I don't want to hear that the generals really wanted to do it.
I don't want to hear that it was largely planned during the last administration.
I don't want to hear that you were only President for two weeks, or two hours.
YOU are the commander in chief. The awesome power, and the awful responsibility are yours.
Man up.
He actually could care less what you want! Your nonstop baseless attacks comparing him to Hilter, Stalin, Benito Mussolini and lets not forget your Nazi and Fascist analogies! No credibility..... buddy! Please refrain from preaching here.

Watch your temper common. Your argument, if you have one, will take care of itself. Now common let's not attack other posters. Let's address the topic of the thread. Of course Trump doesn't care what I want. He doesn't even know who I am. What childish comments.
Could you please contribute something relevant?
Do you have any interest in talking about the Yemen raid? Or do you just want to fight and troll?

So, do you think that the president should claim that it was the generals who lost this man?

Well, he already DID !
He really does not understand. He only knows one thing - his OWN EGO and anything that stands in the way of his egocentric image gets the blame. Can you imagine working for such an individual. And now he has not only his enterprise minions to bully around, but thousands of people in government as well.
Guess the buck always stops somewhere else !
P.S. Don't get me wrong. I DON'T blame Trump for Ryan Owens death. but I DO hold him accountable for how he and his Administration treated the aftermath of the tragic incident..

Exactly.
Blame is not what I am after (Unlike the Benghazi stooges).
Responsiblity is the key. MY decision. The buck stops here. I understand my awesome responsibilities.
The administration's behavior after the raid is reprehensible.
