"No More Anonymous Sources", he says

Ok, we got the message.  Now pass it along to your staff.  Thanks.

Donald Trump used his first presidential appearance before the nation's largest gathering of conservative activists on Friday to sharply escalate his criticism of the news media and take direct aim at the use of anonymous sources. Reporters "shouldn't be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody's name," he declared, just hours after members of his own staff held a press briefing and refused to allow their names to be used.

"A source says that Donald Trump is a horrible, horrible human being, let them say it to my face," Trump told the Conservative Political Action Committee. "Let there be no more sources."

Members of Trump's White House team regularly demand anonymity when talking to reporters.

Re: "No More Anonymous Sources", he says

Sean Spicer banned the NYT, CNN, and others from this afternoon's pres conference.

The AP and Time boycotted the press briefing upon hearing this.

I LOATHE this administration.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

They know the consequences if one were to irritate dear leader.

People are much more tolerant of his behavior than I thought they would be. That surprises me.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am also shocked at the speed at which the abnormal has become normalized.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Looking back, it seems quaint how much anger I spewed towards George W. Bush. I would take Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld ten times over Trump, Bannon, and Priebus.

This should "piss" all of us off. This is OUR White House and NOT the exclusive use at the whim of a few.

This is possibly the WORST Presidency ever thus far.

Re: "No More Anonymous Sources", he says

“I love the First Amendment — nobody loves it more than me.”

Donald Trump said that. He said it in the same speech in which repeatedly criticized the press, said that there should be sources that they are not allowed to use,,,, and oh yea,,, criticized the people who show up at town hall meetings,,,aka,,,people who peacefully assemble.

Trump is a fascist.

Re: "No More Anonymous Sources", he says

After reading through this thread along with many others, I'm baffled by so many of our fellow Americans who have become excited about our nation shifting from democratic to authoritarian leadership and rule.  It's like saying, "Ok, democracy is just too hard and requires too much work from me as a citizen, let's give fascism a shot.  It's never worked out well for anyone else throughout history, but this time will be different.  Afterall, we're Americans!"
