About 15 inches here in the Berkshires. Forecasted to stop at around 5 this afternoon.

2 1/2 inchess 10 miles north of the Mason-Dixon.
Heavy wet snow coated the trees and bowed the evergreen.
Good thing I was prepped for a power outage because, sure enough, it went out at 8:20 am and wasn't restored until around 6:20 pm. I'd just bought a fourth iron kettle for the woodstove yesterday....that one was responsible for about 16,000 extra BTUs released.
House is warmer tonight from 10 hours of hard-fired stove than it normally would be from heat pump.

Tarnation--glad your warm!
Goose--are you pleased with the snowfall, don't care or totally indifferent about it?

So was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston
The Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting
With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go"

When James sings that at Tanglewood on a summer evening the place goes wild.
Well, as wild as a bunch of gray haired people sipping Chardonnay while sitting in lawn chairs get.

Things not too bad down here in Florida !
I am always reminded of this cartoon when we call back home and ask our kids or friends about the current snowstorms !

When we lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the day after a big snow storm on the east coast I sent a message to an old college friend living outside of Philly who was planning on coming down to visit us:
What Jim needed to get to work today: gloves, warm hat, down filled coat, thermal socks, long underwear, insulated boots, ice melter, snow shovel, ice scraper, snow tires, car defroster & heater on full blast, and 20 extra minutes due to snow and ice on roads.
What Ron needed to get to work today: sunglasses.

0.3 inches of rain here; that would have been 3 - 5 inches of snow depending on the "wetness" of the flakes.
We could use the inch + of rain if it came as liquid.
